Creating, Visualizing, Analyzing, and Comparing Series of Artworks

چکیده
In the present paper we discuss a visualization and authoring tool that enables users to visualize and analyze a collection of artworks. The user’s goal is to identify those items within the collection with similarities that can suggest an item’s membership to a series. We describe not only how the tool assists in the creation of series, but also how it helps to compare several series in parallel, and how to visualize items in a series in the context of the collection. The user can also create a catalog for the series he or she composed. Moreover, the interactive features of this tool can help art scholars to analyze, manipulate, and inspect a collection of artworks to create series.

Typical tasks in analyzing time-series data include identifying cyclic behavior, outliers, trends, and periods of time that share distinctive shape characteristics. Many methods for visualizing time series data exist, generally mapping the data values to positions or colors. While ea...
متن کاملAnalyzing and Visualizing Whole Program Architectures
This paper describes our work to develop new tool support for analyzing and visualizing the architecture of complete large-scale (millions or more lines of code) programs. Our approach consists of (i) creating a compact, accurate representation of a whole C or C++ program, (ii) analyzing the program in this representation, and (iii) visualizing the analysis results with respect to the program’s...
متن کاملFractal Art based on “The Butterfly Effect” of Chaos Theory
This paper proposes and demonstrates a new integration of the theory of fractals and the butterfly effect of chaos theory. They both have long histories in creating digital artworks, but besides of many existing fractal software programs, none of them allowed us to achieve the proposed integration. Moreover, our program is the first to provide the functional concepts of overlapping results and ...
